A beloved hit web series, He’s with Me made an even bigger splash when it become available as a selection on the Dekkoo streaming service platform – our sister site. Now, Dekkoo Films is proud to present the first two seasons in one DVD set – their second release following this summer’s Crazy All These Years.
Described by Out Magazine as “a 21st century version of ‘The Odd Couple’,” this award-winning original series from creator/writer Jason Cicci tells the story of the unlikely friendship between gay theatre critic Martin (played by Cicci himself) and straight ad man Ted (Bradford How). When they meet at a friend’s wedding and become fast friends, the ensuing confusion shows how little they know about being modern day men and how much they know about being there for each other.
He’s with Me began life as 30-minute pilot called “The Men’s Room”. Eventually three 30-minute shows were written and performed live. That cast included future series regulars Ryan Duncan and Indie Series Award winner Darcie Siciliano. Creator Jason Cicci met co-star Bradford How when they performed in a play together. How’s dialogue was written but he was encouraged to ad lib. During shooting, time was allotted for Brad to riff on the script. Many of his hilarious improvisations are included in final episodes.
