One of the greatest teams in sports car racing history was an unstoppable duo. Drivers Hurley Haywood and Peter Gregg won races together for a decade before tragedy struck.
Haywood was just a college kid in 1969 when Gregg recognized his talent and took him under his wing. Just a few years later, Haywood and Gregg won the 1973 “24 Hours of Daytona” and the “12 Hours of Sebring” back-to-back. But this early success was just the beginning.
Nicknamed “Batman and Robin” by the racing press, the Brumos Porsche duo went on to win world championship races together for nearly a decade. Fame and fortune followed the men.
