These aren’t our TOP 5, by any means – just a handful of flicks we want to highlight.

Sunburn
Set within the luxurious confines of a modern vacation villa in the Portuguese countryside, the stylish new thriller Sunburn examines a close-knit group friends who share a long (and slowly teased-out) history. Our four protagonists come together for a peaceful weekend retreat by the pool. Unfortunately, their calm is quickly shattered by a phone call from David, a former friend, previously ostracized by the group, who seems to have left a strong and lasting impression on each of them. After a long absence, he’s back in town and planning to stop by. It’s at this point that Sunburn starts ramping up the dread. A reckoning, of some sort, is coming. What happened between David and the rest of the group to inspire such mixed emotions?

Feral: Season One
Best friends Billy and Daniel (Jordan Nichols and Seth Daniel) live together in a Midtown Memphis bungalow. While trying to live together in harmony, pay the rent and become part of an artistic queer community, the pair find themselves dealing with difficult emotional issues – especially when it comes to finding and losing love. Created by Morgan Jon Fox, the writer-director behind the acclaimed low-budget romance Blue Citrus Hearts and the riveting doc This is What Love in Action Looks Like, the positively gorgeous gay series Feral is an absolute must-see! Featuring beautiful cinematography and fluid editing, the show offers a passionate portrayal of young, gay people struggling to find love and meaning in a confusing world.

Class A
Mind-altering and terrorizing, the new twelve-minute short film Class A is set in modern-day New York City… but the ultimate setting is another world in which our LGBTQ addicts, Jenny (Krystal Joy Brown), Dan (Kieran Mulcare) and Brad (played by writer/director Cameron Moir), enter when interacting with their drug of choice. The film focuses on three drugs in particular, each personified by an actor: Cocaine (Alexander Quiroga), Heroin (Pooya Mohseni) and Crystal Meth (Michael Cavadias). Each drug has its own landscape in which the addict enters and cannot escape until the drug leaves them. Heroin, being a vast black eternal comb, Coke, a stark, white, fast moving space and Crystal Meth, a red, steamy dungeon. Clever and thought-provoking, we can’t wait to see what this director does next.
