Kept Boy, a brand-new gay dark comedy, is coming to DVD this August via Breaking Glass Pictures.
Based on the book of the same name by Robert Rodi, Kept Boy centers on interior designer and reality show star Fairleigh Knock (Thure Riefenstein), who has a habit for keeping beautiful things, like young and attractive Dennis (Jon Paul Phillips), around his home. All goes well for Dennis until Fairleigh gives him an ultimatum – get a job or get out.
The second directorial effort from filmmaker George Bamber, following The Mostly Unfabulous Social Life Of Ethan Green, Kept Boy aims to “put a post-queer take” on Rodi’s twisty and hilarious source material. Bamber called the film “a story of love and the secrets of keeping it.”
Though this is one of his first feature films as a director, Bamber has an impressive resume. He has worked on countless Hollywood productions, including Pitch Perfect, Men in Black II and tons of high-profile TV shows. And Jon Paul Phillips, a relative newcomer, makes a charismatic leading man. Should he need a new sugar daddy to take care of him, I’m sure we’ll be able to find someone.
